Letter to the congregation – July 2019

To the Parishioners of The Church of the Resurrection

We thank God for all of you, mentioning  you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted byloveand your endurance inspired by hopein our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Thessalonians 1:2

With these words in mind, I send you greetings and information to keep you up-to-date on the status of  our Church.

This 2019 summer is a time of change in our parish.  Fr. Rick has retired and an interim minister will be assigned to our church  who will begin duties on 8 September 2019.

During August, our church will conduct the Sunday services at 10:00 a.m. The service will be a Eucharist for the five Sundays  (August 4,11,18, 25 and 1 September) .

The Ted Thexton garden is in glorious growth and production.  Fresh garden produce has already been given to a Food Bank.  Come and see the garden.

The Nursery School has offered a summer program this year and it is well attended.  Our church building seems to be in constant use.

COR is not closing its’ door, so please be assured  that we will continue, perhaps in a new form, but here and  serving our community.

We are in the process of planning a special Vestry meeting at COR in early September to reflect together on our past, present and options for our future. Plan to attend (when the date is set) as your input into the life of our church is of the utmost importance.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be will you all.
